I have a 2005 WR450 F I just bought it The guy that had it never really road it so the suspension sucks it way to hard , can you give me a few pointers in where to start with rebounding ,oil weight and dampening setup

Hi Mitch. The best thing to do if you have bought it from someone else and have no idea what it has been set to is to set the damping adjusters back to factory settings.
Check your service manual for how many clicks you should be setting it to. My post on ‘How to adjust your dirt bike suspension’ will be of some help, but I based it on my KTM which has PDS rear suspension with no linkage below the shock, so your WR450F manual will be more help with your particular bike.
You should also set the SAG for your body weight. My post explains how to do this. If the guy you bought it from was heavier than you, he may have set it for his weight, which could explain why it is too hard for you.
I can’t advise you on oil weight, that is getting into the area of professional suspension tuners. I would ask at your local Yamaha dealership.
That’s a great bike you’ve got there. If you can get the suspension set for your body weight, you will enjoy riding it even more.
